This tweak prevents users from using Windows Installer to install patches. Patches are updates or upgrades that replace only those program files that have changed. Because patches can be easy vehicles for malicious programs, some installations prohibit their use.
Steps for applying this Tweak
- Open your Registry
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
- Create or modify dword called "DisablePatch"
- Set value as 0 to disable or as 1 to enable this tweak
- Restart windows or logoff for setting to take effect
