Change period of password expiration warning

Windows issues a password expiration some specified days before the expiration. This tweak Specifies how long before a user's password expires it is that the system displays a message prompting them to change it.

Operating System Windows 2000 / XP / 2003

Steps for applying this Tweak

• Open your windows registry
• go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
• create or mofify the string value called "PasswordExpiryWarning"
• Set the value as number of days you want the warning to appear.
• Restart windows for setting to take effects.
