Choose action for unsigned drivers

This security setting determines what happens when an attempt is made to install a device driver (by means of Setup API) that has not been tested by the Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL).

Operating System Windows 2000 / XP / 2003

Steps for applying this Tweak

• Open your Registry
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Driver Signing
• Create or Modify if exists dword value called "Policy"
• Set value accordingly
  • 0 Silently succeed
  • 1 Warn user but allow installation
  • 2 To disable the installation
• Restart windows for setting to take effects
