Configure the critical update notification Delay

Critical updates are issued by microsoft, which contains latest security updates and most recent hotfixes. When windows discovers that there is a critical update to be applied that either download the update now or remind you later in 1 day.

This twaek will allow you change that 1 one day notification to whatever you want

registry repair

Steps for applying this Tweak

  • open registry
  • go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\Critical Update
  • Create a new value of dword type by the name of CurrentDelayInterval
  • set the CurrentDelayInterval's value in seconds
    • for one day enter 86,400 seconds, so value entered should be number of days x 86,400
  • windows needs to restart or log off for setting to take effect
