Lock The Taskbar

Category Start Menu and Taskbar

This setting effects the taskbar.The taskbar includes the Start button, list of currently running tasks, and the notification area. By default, the taskbar is located at the bottom of the screen, but it can be dragged to any side of the screen. This tweak will prevents the user from moving or resizing the taskbar. While the taskbar is locked, auto-hide and other taskbar options are still available in Taskbar properties.

Steps for applying this Tweak

  • Open your Registry
  • Go to one of the following location

    • For changes to occur for current user
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer

    • For change to occur for all users
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer

  • Create or Modify if exists Dword value called "LockTaskbar"
  • set value as 0 to disable Or 1 to Enable this Tweak.
  • restart windows or logout for setting to take effect.
